Is this model compliant with the National Energy Regulator of South Africa?

Yes. Our partners comply with all necessary regulations as stipulated by the National Energy Regulator of South Africa and the relevant utility provider such as City Power or Eskom.

What happens if the price of the solar electricity goes up?

Owners benefit from the annual rise in electricity prices up to a maximum of 10%. Any increase above 10% will accrue to the landlord. In line with the peer-to-peer model, this arrangement allows for the benefit of all parties involved, but the asset owner will be first in line to receive the upside of electricity price increases.

Once you have purchased your panel, all ongoing maintenance costs and the costs associated with collecting and selling the electricity are carried by the farmer, in this case our partner Emergent.
